About
Lavender (Em) Jeffries (he/they) is an artist, actor, filmmaker, performer, animator, and editor. They recently graduated from Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a major in filmmaking and a minor in animation. His senior thesis film, JEST Network, was an exploration of fictional found footage, absurdism, and entertainment. It was shot entirely on a Hi-8 camcorder, and all of the asset screens were made by Lavender himself!
Lavender's resume is constantly expanding. They direct their own films, have worked as a script supervisor and crew member for other’s films, and also starred in an episode of the web series (mis)Placed! He is currently working at MCAD’s Media Center, is an actor for American Immersion Theater, and is an A/V Tech at a local Quaker Meeting. They could be called a renaissance man (clown?) of sorts.
Lavender has an affinity for clowns, The Muppets, vintage technology, and picking things up off of the ground. He makes jewelry, plays D&D, and dabbles in clown drag from time to time. He enjoys making music and other tunes of varying qualities on the piano, acoustic, electric guitar, and bass guitar, ukulele, kazoo, harmonica, and ocarina. He wants to get an omnichord, banjo, or accordion next.
Lavender is currently working on establishing a presence in the Twin Cities film and theater scene and diving back into his hobbies. He plans on developing an ARG, making his own hand-rod puppet, and maybe fixing up that old Etsy shop of his. Who knows…!
